"We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was lovely with tea making facilities and there was always fresh coffee service; towels and toiletries in it. The bathroom was of a comfortable size and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was also very good in the basement with arched vaulted ceilings, which is so typical of Paris. They offered coffee, juices, cereals, yogurt, cheese, canned fruit salad and delicious bread and croissants. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful without being overbearing. Seven of us stayed at the Hotel de France Latin Quarter in Paris in December 2006, and we found the hotel to be very well situated between two metro stations. This turned out to be excellent for our sightseeing trips during our four night stay. The hotel is small with a helpful staff, and although the rooms are small, they all had suitable amenities and the room was cleaned every day. There is also a small elevator if the stairways are a problem. It was clean and warm with a nice continental breakfast, which was included in the stay if you stayed more than two nights. The Hotel de France is located near a market in the Latin Quarter. Its location is ideal, with reasonably priced bars and restaurants as well as interesting neighbourhood boutiques where you can conduct your business. The bathroom was also very clean and the staff were friendly. The location is great – a few minutes walk from Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. It was a little further to the Louvre Museum and the Eiffel Tower, but, fortunately, the metro station is nearby. I would really like to come back to this hotel.

1st Nov 2005: Small rooms, very good situation, efficient staff I stayed at the Hotel Au Royal Cardinal for one week with my mother and sister. The rooms are small, but always clean and comfortable. It is sometimes noisy at night time if the windows looking out on to the street are open, but once they are closed the rooms are very well soundproofed. The reception staff is fantastic and helped us to find a doctor when we needed medical attention. They also helped us to the book the shuttle bus to the airport which can be caught a short distance from the hotel. There are many places to eat nearby, as well as a chemist shop, a post office, an ATM machine and a subway station. Very good location and good value for money. 26th Oct 2005: Very good location The hotel is very well located. Only 5 mins from Notre Dame and 3 mins from the Panthéon. It is the best place from which to visit the city and go out of an evening. There are so many restaurants in this area (between Boulevard Saint Michel and Boulevard Saint Jacques, as well as Rue Saint André des Arts). The building is old, the staircase is narrow and the rooms are small, but the hotel offers everything we need when we come to visit the city and need somewhere to sleep: a bed (with bolster) with shower/WC. We do not need anything else. The staff is pleasant. The hotel is situated near the subway station Cardinal Lemoine. If we come back to Paris we will come back to this hotel if we cannot find anything cheaper.
